NAMM 2019: PRS präsentiert hochwertige Hingucker
Auf der NAMM hat PRS unter Anderem vier Aufsehen erregende neue Modelle vorgestellt. Die McCarty 594 Hollowbody II, SE Paul’s Guitar, SE Santana Singlecut Trem und vor Allem die SE Schizoid Gitarre zum 50. Jubiläum der Band King Crimson, sind echte Hingucker, die kompromisslos performen.
Die McCarty 594 erweitert die Features der beliebten Hollowbody II. Die resonante Semi-Akustik-Gitarre ist sehr resonant und hat einen warmen, hölzernen Ton.
58/15 LT Pickups stellen sicher, dass das Modell klar und musikalisch klingt, duale Volume- und Tone-Regler mit Push/Pull-Funktion bieten Flexibilität. Die McCarty 594 hat eine 24,594 Zoll Mensur, eine zweiteilige Brücke und ein Pattern-Vintage-Halsprofil.

Die SE Paul’s Guitar repräsentiert die Essenz von PRS mit ihrem Tone und ihrer Vielseitigkeit. Die TCI “S” Pickups liefern puren Vintage-Sound.
Zwischen den Volume- und Tone-Reglern finden sich zwei Mini-Toggle-Switches, mit denen man einen oder beide Pickups in den Single-Coil-Modus schalten kann. Die SE Paul’s Guitar ist das erste Modell, das diese Art von Elektronik außerhalb der Private Stock und Core Serien bietet.
Sie ist in drei Farben erhältlich, die sich an PRS’s frühesten Modellen orientieren: Amber, Aqua und Fire Red.
Die SE Santana Singlecut Trem zollt Santanas einzigartiger Gold-Leaf Private Stock PRS Tribut. Die dem Workhorse nachempfundene SE Version wurde entwickelt, nachdem Santana 2018 von den Paul’s Guitar TCI Pickups beeindruckt war. Er wollte ein Paar dieser Pickups ohne Coil-Taps haben – das war die Geburtsstunde der TCI “S” Pickups.
Um die Fülle von Tones, die diese Pickups liefern, in einem besonderen Gitarren-Modell zu verpacken, haben Paul und Santana dessen persönliche Sammlung durchstöbert und als Basis die Gold-Leaf Singlecut auserkoren.
Die Gitarre kommt mit weiteren klassischen Santana/PRS Features wie einer 24,5 Zoll Mensur, 24 Bünden und einer Tremolo Brücke. Somit bietet die SE Santana Singlecut Trem zwei volle Oktaven und den Komfort einer Gitarre mit kürzerer Mensur.

Als limitierte Edition bietet PRS 2019, zur Feier des 50. Jubiläums der legendären Prog-Rock-Gruppe King Crimson, die SE Schizoid Gitarre an. Das auf 1000 Stück begrenzte Sondermodell trägt das ikonische Artwork des Albums “In the Court of the Crimson King” auf dem Body.
“When Robert Fripp asked me to join Crimson, I decided I needed a new guitar. Much as I loved and owned a number of vintage guitars, live I would always play something modern – more reliable. PRS is the best of both worlds. A modern instrument that feels and looks like a classic.
So when PRS asked if they could make me something special it had to be a guitar with that iconic artwork. The ‘Schizoid Man’ face that started this whole journey off. Full circle as it were.”
